Return to Data Entrty Tab | Data File Dictonary Maintance2. DATA FILE DICTI(1NARY MAINTENANCE Dictionaries define the attributes associated with the files you create. Dictionaries may contain D, Q. S. or A items: D Items - define the physical limits of other, lower-level, files. Q Items - point to files in other accounts. A Items - are used by the ACCESS processor and define the structure of data in the data section of the file. S Items - suppress an attribute definition. NOTE: Refer to your Pick Reference Manual under the heading " Dictionaries" for more details. Next we will go through the process of building a Dictionary. From theMain FileUtilities Menu, chooseselection#2 to reach the Dictionary File Maintenance Screen. This is where you are going to create and maintain your file dictionaries and assign each dictionary its specific attributes. On the next page is an illustration of the Dictionary File Maintenance Screen.
