Selector
Creating new Programs or Data Files is an extremely easy
step-through process with ProfiC System Utilities. Data File Dictionary Maintenance allows you to create and
maintain your file dictionaries and assign each dictionary its specific attributes.
The Global Dictionary Maintenance feature simplifies changes
that affect all files associated with the dictionary. Maintaining system help text is also
handled through Global Help Text Maintenance.
System Control File Maintenance provides the ability to make
changes to or manipulate and maintain system parameters such as the Order Processing
program to use, whether or not a price/discount window will appear on your Order Entry
Screen, or whether you want inventory to prompt for a substitute product. This feature is
commonly used to strip down or add to some of the existing prompts located throughout the
system, giving you customizing capabilities at your fingertips. Additional benefits to the
File Utilities Selector of System Utilities include Automated File Sizing with Back-up
Report and Update, Print or Display the list of dictionary descriptors, Print or Display

Program Template Utilities provide the ability to move fields
around the screens, add or remove fields from screens, change field characteristics and
indicate how a user can affect a field with regard to data entry. Access and Report
templates make it easy to design complex access statements/reports. Plus, easily embed the
reports you design on any screen. Create comprehensive data entry screens simply by taking
a file and capturing the associated dictionary items. The copy a Program File Template is
a great time-saving feature. With it, you can create a new program by copying the
templates of a similar program then maintain or modify it to create a new program. A
Program Modification log provides a detailed trail including dates for all programs
modified.
