Terminal Drivers

1. TERMINAL DRIVER DEFINITIONS

Choice #1 from the Terminal Definition Menu brings you to the Terminal Driver Definitions Screen (also known as the Terminal Control File Maintenance Screen). Hexadecimal Codes are used for the display assignments including color assignment and may be found in the appropriate terminal manual.

Below is an illustration of the Terminal Control File Maintenance Screen followed by an explanation of the fields.

"EXPLANATIONS

 Profi'C Term Code. You must enter a code for the type of terminal you are entering data for (for example,

"W" for Wyse).

1. Description. Enter a description of the terminal up to 35 characters, such as "Wyse 50 Terminal".

2. Operating Environ. Enter the name of the operating system (or data base system) for this terminal.

3. Pick Terminal Code. This is the code the operating system uses. Refer to the Pick manual.

4. Video Type D,C,M. Enter the terminal's color type: "M"onochrome, "C"olor, or <RTN~ for neither.

5. Record Def. Type. Enter "U" if this data is for a particular user, "D" if you are entering driver definitions

for a specific terminal, or "P" if it is for a particular port.

 Afteryou enter the Record Definition Type, the system will display the Video Escape Codes Windowand the Prompt: "Do you want to add this record? Y/N." If you want to add hexadecimal codes for the Video Escape fields, enter "Y" and begin to enter the codes found in the terminal's manual. Or if you do not want to enter any codes, enter "N" <RTN>. Below is an example.

After you enter all the Video Escape Codes or if you entered "N" (not to enter any codes), the system will bring you to the Graphic Escape Codes Window and the Prompt: "Do you want to add this record? Y/N". If you want to add hexadecimal codes for the Graphic Escape fields, enter "Y" and begin to enter the codes found in the terminal's manual. Or you may enter "N" if you do not wish to enter any codes. After entering codes for each window, the system will display the Prompt: "Enter <RTN> to save, field#, <D>el or <E>xit without save:". If you need to make a correction to a field in the window, enter the number of the field and make the change. On the next page is an example of the Graphic Escape Codes Window.
